We need a system that values practical skills as much as academic ones — apprenticeships, digital training, and vocational routes that lead directly into good jobs. Schools must be supported, not closed, because every community deserves a place where children can learn and grow close to home.

As an independent, I will always push for common‑sense reforms: less bureaucracy, more focus on what actually works for pupils, parents, and teachers.

Here in Carmarthenshire, our schools are at the heart of our communities. I will fight to protect local schools from closure and ensure they have the resources they need to thrive. I want to see stronger links between schools, Coleg Sir Gâr, and local employers so that young people can step straight into opportunities in farming, renewable energy, digital industries, and healthcare.

Education here should reflect our culture and language too — giving every child the chance to learn and succeed in Welsh as well as English.
